My name is Jairo Garzon, and I am 80 years old. Two years ago, when I could no longer keep up with raising rent costs, I made the choice to move into my car. It wasn’t easy, but it allowed me to keep working and stand on my own two feet. My piece of junk car was more than just a vehicle to me - it was my bedroom, my office, and my lifeline. Two months ago, my car broke down completely. The repairs cost more than the car itself. In a single afternoon, I became both homeless and jobless. Without a reliable vehicle, I can neither put food in my mouth nor have a place to sleep.
I'm looking for a tool to work. I need to raise enough funds for a reliable used vehicle to restart my delivery and transportation services and provide myself with a temporary place to stay while I work towards a more permanent place to live!
10,000 dollars will allow me to purchase a vetted, reliable used car and cover the initial insurance and registration to get me back on the road.
I have spent my life helping others get where they need to go. Now, I am the one who is stranded. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing my story. At 80, I still have plenty of work left in me - I just need the wheels to do it.
Thank you for reading my story and for your kindness!
