Me llamo María y soy educadora en Puerto Rico. Durante años he trabajado duro para construir una vida estable, y una parte esencial de esa estabilidad fue mi hogar. Compré esa casa en copropiedad con alguien cercano, confiando en que siempre podríamos compartirla y resolver los asuntos que se nos presentaran.

Hace años esa confianza se rompió. Los últimos tres años he estado sin un hogar seguro, viviendo en constante inestabilidad. El copropietario se ha apropiado de la casa, vive en ella y se niega a abandonarla o negociar. Estoy luchando legalmente para recuperar mi hogar — no para venderlo, sino para volver a vivir en el lugar por el que tanto trabajé.

Para poder continuar este proceso y proteger mis derechos, necesito reunir fondos que me ayuden a cubrir los gastos legales y otros costos relacionados. Esta situación ha sido devastadora emocional y económicamente, y ya no tengo los recursos para sostenerla sola.

Mientras enfrento este proceso, también tengo que asumir deudas personales, servicios acumulados y mis responsabilidades diarias. Mis gatos, mis compañeros silenciosos, también han sentido esta inestabilidad. Lo que antes era un hogar lleno de vida, ahora está cubierto de tensión. Ellos dependen de mí, y juntos enfrentamos la incertidumbre de perder nuestro refugio.

Por eso acudo a ti. Estoy organizando esta campaña con toda la humildad del mundo, para solicitar tu ayuda. Todo donativo, sin importar el tamaño, me acerca más a proteger el único lugar que puedo llamar hogar.

That trust was broken years ago. For the past three years, I’ve been without a safe place to live, constantly facing instability. The co-owner took over the house, lives in it, and refuses to leave or negotiate. I’m currently in a legal battle to recover my home—not to sell it, but to return to the place I worked so hard to build.

To continue this process and protect my rights, I need to raise funds to cover legal expenses and related costs. This situation has been emotionally and financially devastating, and I no longer have the resources to face it alone.

As I go through this, I also carry personal debt, overdue bills, and daily responsibilities. My cats—my quiet companions—have felt this instability too. What was once a home full of life is now covered in tension. They depend on me, and together we face the uncertainty of losing our only refuge.

That’s why I’m reaching out. I’m launching this campaign with all the humility in the world to ask for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to protecting the only place I can truly call home.
