A quite hard challenge - Cami De Cavalls in 5 days!
In time we will post on our socials the personal reasons why we are doing this and doing it for Dementia UK.
The challenge is sort of a pilgrimage, a conversation that came about when discussing a devastating loss, think “wild” by Cheryl Strayed. A way to deal with grief.
But - being as we are, make it fun! A little bit bonkers with a sprinkling of jeopardy. After all “Jeopardy and Drama” are our AKAs (can you guess who’s who though?!)
The challenge involves running (slash hiking and clambering) 185km around the entire perimeter of Menorca. Don’t get us wrong, it will be beautiful, there will be incredible scenery, crystal clear waters, white beaches, those iconic olive wood gates the island is famous for along the route, and we not going to pretend we’re dreading it, as we cannot frikking wait!
HOWEVER!! imagine doing the London marathon, but it’s not organised so there are no first aid tents, there are no water stations, there is no crowd to cheer you on, and no tarmac in sight. Claire hasn’t even tackled the London Marathon, yet here we are doing that distance in tougher conditions, and having to do it again the day after, and the day after that, and the day after that, AND the day after that! 5 days! Day one is 19th May 2025!
If anyone has any tips please send them our way.
If you want to to donate to such a worthy charity then we would be eternally grateful
