Two years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lupus nephritis, a severe and aggressive form of lupus that’s attacking my kidneys and threatening my life. Since then, I’ve been in and out of hospitals, pushed to physical and emotional limits I never imagined—and yet, I’m still fighting.

Lupus is not just my battle—it’s a daily war for millions of lupus people around the world. It’s an autoimmune disease that causes the immune system to turn on the body, attacking organs and tissues. The damage can be widespread and devastating—affecting the kidneys, heart, brain, skin, and more. There is currently NO cure.

What many people don’t realize is that lupus patients often endure treatments and struggles similar to those faced by cancer patients:

Chemotherapy to suppress the immune system

Hair loss, extreme fatigue, nausea, and long hospital stays

Uncertainty about the future, and the emotional weight of fighting a life-threatening disease

Lupus takes away so much—our strength, our plans, our independence. And it’s often invisible, misunderstood, or ignored.
