A precious young family as they fight the cancer in momma

Hi, I’m Christina and I’m fundraising for a dear friend Jaqui. She’s been fighting cancer for a long time, and 2024 was particularly awful as she was hospitalised a number of times and had many surgeries to manage things. Early 2025 she endured a hysterectomy which at the age of 28 is devastating for so many reasons. She is now preparing for chemo and radiation which will happen at the same time and will take place late this winter/early spring. Jaqui is unable to work right now, has a husband who is working full time plus OT to make ends meet, and they have a 13 month old son-He’s so precious.

Her fight with cancer has been so long and it seems like at every step they are hit with more. The funds we raise through this site will help the family afford a temporary rental for during treatment, days off work her husband will need to take, childcare for their son, and food and fuel.

They do not qualify for social supports such as EI due to the circumstances shared above. They are working so hard and doing everything they can, and yet it’s not enough as this is just too much for any young family to be going through.
