A Prayer for our Papa's Air-Brian Chase
Hey everyone, my name is Lhea, this is my dad, Brian Chase. My dad is currently awaiting a double lung transplant, he is in the final stages of COPD and is only 67 years old. He spent the majority of my life working away from home, sometimes long haul trucking but for the most part he was away working on the rigs, where over the years he held a variety of different positions. He worked right up until this illness prevented him from doing so any longer, he has been unable to work for a few years now as his health has declined drastically due to this illness. He now struggles to complete the simplest of tasks without running out of air, even with his oxygen on 24/7 my dad runs out of air doing small day to day tasks such as brushing his teeth, or washing the dishes. He has come to a point in his illness where he had to make a decision about his next step, a little over a year ago he made the decision to go through with the double lung transplant and he is nearing the end of all of the preliminary testing that he was able to have done close to home. My mom, Donna Chase, works full time but is also my dad's primary caregiver. The next stages of this process will take them away from home for weeks at a time, and the transplant itself will require months of recovery. I am hoping that this will help my mom to be able to focus on caring for my dad, and to take some of the financial burden off of both them while they fight for my dad's best chance at life. My dad is not ready to give up, he is willing to enter a literal fight for his life! He is so loved, by so many, his job here is not done!! We need him, we all need him. His wife, his kids, his grandkids, his family, his friends, he is so loved. My mom and dad would give the shirts off of their backs to anyone in need, they always step up when many others would step out. Please help me to help them have to worry less about the financial aspect of this long term battle my dad is about to engage in to get his life back!! Any amount is appreciated and will help substantially, and if you are unable to donate then please Pray!! Pray that there are lungs available for my dad, and for the family that will be suffering the loss it takes for such a miracle to happen. Pray for my mom, as watching your loved one go through this is a battle in and of itself.
From the bottom of my heart, Thank You. Thank You for any part you wish to play through this process with our family. I will give updates as best as I can through this, although that can be difficult to do ahead of time as a lot of this happens with very little, to no notice. #aprayerforourpapasair
