Hi, my name is Kasia and I'm fundraising for my good friend Lucas.

In August 2016, Lucas who was only 35 years old at the time, suffered a devastating brain stroke. He spent three weeks in a coma, paralyzed on his right side, unable to speak or feed himself, communicating only through eye blinks.

Today, after eight years of intensive rehabilitation, Lucas has made incredible progress. He can now feed himself with his left hand and operate a wheelchair. His speech is returning, though still challenging. However, he is still a person incapable of independent existence and specialized 24-hour care he needs costs a fortune. His family struggling to cover and cannot always afford it.
