A Helping Hand for KJ's Recovery
Donation protected
Along with family, friends, and the community - The Academy for Gifted Minds is reaching out to raise funds to assist with medical expenses for 18-year-old Kevin Taylor Jr., lovingly known as "KJ."
On Thursday, December 10th, 2020, KJ was seriously injured in a rollover car accident near his home in Deadman's Cay. KJ was emergency life-flighted 200 miles to Nassau and currently recovering in the ICU at Princess Margaret Hospital.
Kevin remains in critical but stable condition after initial emergency surgeries for a fracture dislocated spine, fractured skull leaving swelling on his brain, and trauma to the chest.
This morning, our friend KJ remains on a ventilator, with injuries and swelling leaving no feeling in his legs. Though resting, KJ was alert and full of hope as he starts his long road of healing and recovery.
The Taylor family is thankful to the Doctors, nurses, and staff at PMH but understand they may need to transfer KJ to the United States for specialized medical attention.
The immediate goal for KJ's medical expense fund is $85,000.
If you can please find it in your heart to help this bright, handsome, young man set his bright light on a path to full recovery, we would greatly appreciate it.
It is a tough time for all. If a donation is not possible, please share Kevin's story - and lift us all in prayer during this difficult time.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts! Let's get KJ on his feet, feeling 100%, and back to his home on Long Island, The Bahamas, where his family, friends, and community miss him so much.
