We are a small charity rescuing dogs in Spain so that we can give them the chance to find a beautiful forever home. The name of our rescue is Rescue Group for Spanish Animals.
So here we are asking for donations to go towards the huge vet bill we will be faced with to repair the damage to our precious Bubbles.
She arrived with us on 19 July 2023 and she was placed in one of our lovely Fosters so that she could recover from her life living on the streets. It was going to take some time but she was making lovely progress and her sore eyes were healing.
Sadly on 10 August one of the other dogs, from another rescue charity, managed to push his way into the area where Bubbles is recovering. She is very nervous of other dogs at the moment, so it was decided that she should be placed by herself. When Bubbles saw the unwelcome attentions from this dog she growled a warning not to approach but he wanted to investigate. Having been growled at and warned not to approach from Bubbles he grabbed her and shook her. The attack was immediately stopped but injuries had already been inflicted to her.
Bubbles was rushed to the vet where she was placed on oxygen to help her breathe as she had emphysema due to the trauma. She had crushed ribs so as you can imagine this was very painful for her. Tragically, she had suffered trauma to her spine, too and so she can no longer use her back legs. She then had a CAT Scan to reveal the damage caused.
Following the CAT Scan it has now been decided that she will need surgery to her spine to try and regain the use of her legs. She will be at the vet Tuesday 29 August in the afternoon in preparation for surgery, today, Thursday 31 August. We will be keeping everything crossed for her that this will be successful.
This is where you come in, please. Bubbles would really appreciate it if you could make donations to pay for her vet bill as the charity whose dog caused the injuries has decided not to help with the costs. We are a very small charity and we are all volunteers so no one gets paid to do this work. We all dedicate our own time, free of charge.
We are very passionate in the rescuing of dogs. We are a great team made up of Maria Gloria Salinas Picon who is the Founder and the Admin Team Gloria Winfield, Karen Couzens, Susan Tisley, Susie Currie, Chris Cook, Susan Moore and Corina Maas who love being part of this wonderful small charity, Rescue Group for Spanish Animals.
