I am reaching out to you today with a heart heavy with concern but filled with hope. I am starting this fundraiser to provide urgent assistance to my family and our aging grandmother, who are enduring the harrowing realities of life in Gaza amid conflict and destruction.

Battling Health and War: A Family’s Struggle

My mom, a brave and resilient single mother, has been the pillar of our family, tirelessly caring for our ill grandmother and my siblings in the midst of relentless strife. The hardships she faces now bring back the painful memories of when she lost her husband years ago. Since then, she has been navigating life's challenges alone, without financial support from anyone. Our grandmother suffers from severe health issues, including loss of consciousness due to E.E.G./Paroxysmal spike sharp waves discharge and in these times of dire scarcity, even essential medical equipment like her blood pressure measuring device is no longer available, and basic necessities in Gaza has made her condition more challenging, requiring continuous monitoring and care.

Loss of a Sanctuary: The Destruction of a Home

The journey of my family has been one of constant upheaval. Over the years, after moving from one place to another, my mom finally secured an apartment years ago by taking a mortgage for this apartment, a sanctuary for our family. Tragically, the relentless conflict led to the destruction of their apartment building by an airstrike by Israeli forces, leaving them with nothing but memories of a home they had barely begun to settle in. Despite having paid a significant portion of the apartment's cost, all was lost in an instant.

Surviving in a Tent: Daily Struggles for Basic Needs

Now, they find themselves living in a plastic tent, devoid of basic living amenities. This makeshift shelter becomes inundated with water whenever it rains, offering little respite from the harsh elements. The struggle to find wood for cooking and securing clean drinking water is a daily challenge, and every meal is a testament to their resilience and the kindness of those around them. They stay in bread lines and water lines for hours. Even my grandmother’s sewing machine, which was helping in income, is gone now as it was in the apartment. The following images are a window into their resilience and the urgent need for assistance.

A Ray of Hope: How Your Support Can Help

While there is hope for assistance from organizations like the UN, such aid often falls short of what is needed to rebuild a life shattered by conflict. It is a lengthy process, and the aid received usually does not cover the actual losses incurred. With over 70% of homes in Gaza destroyed, the need is overwhelming and resources are spread thin.

This is where your help can make a tangible difference. Your support will provide my family with the means to rent a decent apartment, furnish it, and meet their basic living needs. It will also help us secure medical care for our grandmother and ensure that my mom and my siblings have a safe place to call home. Additionally, any extra funds will go towards a down payment for a new apartment, should the opportunity to rebuild arise.

I earnestly ask for your assistance through this fundraising initiative, aimed at securing the means to evacuate my family to safety in Egypt. However, I've always strived to protect my family, the cost of leaving is staggering. Each person requires $5000 for evacuation—a sum far beyond what I can manage alone.
