Seed Evolution

One bus, ten cities, two weeks before elections. Pop-up screenings and public art activations from New York to Miami...during a global pandemic! Who, how and why?

Seed Evolution was launched just weeks ago after a collective of 5 artivists from around the world decided to get on a 40ft bus and travel down the East Coast to ignite hope and unity within communities.

These 2020 elections were weighing heavy on the hearts of many, so we traveled across the states to provide ease and grace during such crucial times. By using art as our tool to educate, entertain, and engage the people around the issues we all face on the planet, we were able to not only capture the pain and the dreams of these communities but also provide a stage to amplify their voice and vision for a brighter future. Our intention was to inspire and uplift traditionally underrepresented demographics and weave a network of dreamers into a world of possibility.

In the cities and communities that we will be traveling through, we will invite people of all ages and backgrounds to share their hopes for the future and have them projected, alongside yours too.

We have called this project Seed Evolution. While a seed is small, its potential is infinite if the conditions allow it to flourish. Your voice and vision are your seed that helps contribute to a collective desire to change and evolve.

Our approach once we arrive at our destination in each city is as follows:

Engage Community

Our initiative opens dialogues with people waiting to voice their vote at polling stations.
We ask what changes will better serve their communities to make them thrive?
We build a mobile community center from our bus to offer a physical space to safely share ideas, gifts, to be heard and seen.

Amplifying Creative Thought

We offer this as a place to exchange skills, engage children and young adults to play with paints
With the intention of being allies and collaborators. we provide a soap-box platform for community engagement, with microphones, speakers and film projections.

Public Illuminations

Anything that is created with the bus’ mobile community centre is then projected on the city walls, cultural centres. We shine the light of the community visions in the darkness and encourage people to re-engage with their public space.  Using the medium of  large-scale projector, we are able to safely transmit a pop-up gallery of creations whilst maintaining social-distancing protocols.

All pop-up events will be under strict COVID protocol and social distancing measures because we are still on a global pandemic and taking it very seriously.

We will be offsetting the bus's carbon footprint by supporting 10% of this campaign to Jaguar Siembra , a non-profit foundation dedicated to preserving Nature & Ancient Wisdom, planting 10.000 trees for Food Forests in the heart of the world, La Sierra Nevada in Colombia. Follow their work

The Seed Bus at the launch in Brooklyn, NY.

Here’s how you can get involved:

1. If you would like to make a contribution to our efforts, all donations gratefully received.

Your donations will go towards helping us continue towards collecting seeds from the people we meet and to then physically plant these seeds. We will be offsetting our carbon footprint by saving trees in Colombia that are in danger from being cut down. We want to plant an entire forest with the seeds we collect.

2. Submit your seed to Public Illuminations project! All submissions should be rooted in love, inclusivity and hope.

Who we are

We are a non-partisan collective, a group of 5 filmmakers, artists and activists from around the world. Our inspiration to undertake this journey at this time, during the pandemic and in this political environment, is to shine a light on visions of the future. This is a global collaborative art project to share the dreams of the people, to remind the world that it is THE PEOPLE who have the power.

“Young people, particularly from marginalized communities, perceive their beliefs and dreams as meaningless because that’s the message they hear in the media. This project is here to reignite the seeds of hope and get young people to believe in a better future for themselves and our planet.” - Angela Del Sol, Creative Director

“I’m doing this project because Seed Evolution aligns with my life mission — to co-create positive impact and uplift a billion people in my lifetime. Film is a powerful tool to talk about social justice because its a medium that evokes deep emotions and insight which give space to reflect and imagine possibilities.” - says filmmaker Rhys Valmonte
