Travis Nicolas (Nico) Millican
Nico passed away suddenly and tragically on February 23rd, leaving behind grieving family and many friends. He was a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, godfather, and best friend. He was kind, and loyal, and beautiful, and loving, and gentle, and compassionate. He is so terribly missed.
Nico brought his love and light with him everywhere he went. His laughter and smile were truly infectious. He became an Angelino and he really loved the West Coast. He also loved his hometown of New York City very much. Fortunately for all of his friends on opposite coasts, his heart was big enough that we could all share that love.
Growing up in the city, Nico was in Central Park a lot, crossing it to go to school or just hanging out. Like most Manhattan kids of the time, he spent a lot of time in Sheep’s Meadow. Many sunny days were spent at the Meadow, doing what Nico did best, making friends and getting people to fall in love with his amazing spirit.
To honor Nico and his parents, Eva and Ron, and to thank them for sharing him with all of us, we think it would be fitting to have a park bench dedicated in his name. It’s our hope that they, and every one his friends can always have a quiet, peaceful place to sit, enjoy the beauty of the park, and think about Nico.
We’re asking for your help.
We’ve set up this go fund me page with the hope of reaching $10,300 to cover the fee ($10,000 plus 3.0% credit card processing/ transaction fee) for a dedicated bench. We have attached the site to show costs. The exact location is to be determined, but we are looking at benches around the Meadow. Details updates will be posted regularly.
