A Place to Help: In Loving Memory of Dodie

Today, our hearts are broken. My sister-in-law, Dodie, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband—my brother, Trent—and their three daughters: Tristyn, Meah, and Mikka.

Dodie and Trent shared a rare and powerful love. They were each other’s best friend, soulmate, and safe place. The kind of love that was steady, deep, and unmistakable. Trent loved her with every part of who he is, and Dodie loved him just as fiercely. Their bond carried them through life’s highest highs and the hardest moments with grace and grit.

Her girls were her entire world. Every breath she took, every choice she made, was for Tristyn, Meah, and Mikka. And they adored her just as much. I was lucky to be part of that circle—to love her not just as family, but as a sister and a true friend.
