A Pitcher's Tough Break: Eric Hill's Journey
Donation protected
Despite being a talented baseball player drafted into the major leagues, Eric Hill's dreams were cut short due to debilitating knee issues after just 5 years of playing professionally. The meager minor league salaries of the 80s and 90s left Eric unprepared for the financial burden of eight knee surgeries, including a full knee replacement that has left him barely able to walk and work. As if that weren't enough, he is now facing potential heart surgery. To place stints in his arteries Through it all, this divorced father of three has lived on a modest income from government benefits. During all of this he has been trying to help his son start his own landscaping business in any way he can. Tragedy struck when Eric's leg was badly broken after his son accidentally ran over it with a lawnmower. Eric has a broken femur, damaged ankle and damaged replaced knee. Now saddled with tens of thousands in medical bills and no insurance, Eric is in desperate need of support from his community and the baseball world he was once a part of. Any assistance, be it financial or simply thoughts and prayers, would be an incredible blessing to Eric and his family during this unimaginably difficult time.
