A pet owners worst nightmare

Hello, I have started this request on behalf of my former college sweetheart, Cindy, and for Guido. We have reconnected after 45 yrs. We live in different cities. On Tuesday 3/18 we were speaking on the phone as she was preparing for work. Routinely she leashes Guido outside to do any last minute business. The next moment she has drop the phone and is screaming, as if she was for her life. She was screaming for the life of her dog Guido. He was attacked and killed by a dog the had escaped its yard. What I heard was her fighting the dog in trying to save her friend. What I heard was terrible. In knowing how she loved Guido, I know how she tried to fight the dog, but it was a big dog and the damage had been done. I've lost pets and I know, but not like this. Guido was her family, and her friend and they had been together for 14 yrs. Cindy has a strong faith in God, and that remains, but her spirit has been bruised. Cindy's family and friends have been great, and I am reaching out to a larger community to try and help her heal. Bills have been generated that should be dealt with accordingly. I am asking for any support whether of donations and or a kind word or two. I'm hoping to share this with Cindy and show her she has an extended group of family and friends.
