My name is Dr. Saher Nasr, a pediatric doctor from Gaza.

I studied medicine in Sudan and returned to Gaza to serve my people. Unfortunately, shortly after my return, the war began. Due to the devastating conditions and the collapse of the healthcare and education systems in Gaza, I was unable to continue my medical specialization.

My goal is to complete my postgraduate medical training in a stable academic environment, where I can gain advanced clinical skills and knowledge. I am highly motivated to specialize further in pediatrics to better serve children in conflict zones like Gaza.

I seek an opportunity to join a university outside the Gaza Strip to continue my education and build a secure future for myself, my family, and the children I care.

While we were asleep inside our home, Israeli airstrikes struck our house, reducing it to rubble. Trapped beneath the debris, we struggled to find one another through the thick dust and devastation. In the midst of that chaos, I discovered my mother’s lifeless body buried under the ruins — she had been killed in the strike. In that moment, I lost not only my home, but a part of my soul.

We had a home here, but it was destroyed by Israeli military airstrikes, forcing us to repeatedly flee and move from one tent to another. Now, my family and I are homeless.
