A Peaceful Farewell for Our Beloved Mom, Chin Wei Mung

It is with deep sorrow that God has called my mom to heaven, and we share the passing of our beloved mother, Chin Wei Mung, who passed away on December 18, 2025, after a long and painful health journey that spanned six years. Our mom was an incredibly strong, selfless, and loving woman whose life was defined by sacrifice and care for others. Even through unimaginable hardship, she remained thoughtful, resilient, and full of warmth. She had a silly, joyful personality that could make anyone laugh especially us and her humor and love will forever live on in our hearts.

Our mother was a devoted single parent who worked tirelessly to raise me and my sister. She worked two jobs and long hours, always putting our needs before her own. She never complained, even when she was exhausted. She was independent, hardworking, and endlessly giving, and she taught us the meaning of perseverance, responsibility, and unconditional love.

In November 2023, our mom began experiencing frequent and severe headaches. Despite taking medication, the pain did not improve. In March 2024, she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered a tumor-like mass in her brain caused by a spreading fungal infection. Her condition gradually took a toll on her body, and she was placed in a nursing home to receive ongoing treatment. Because of her illness, she was no longer able to work.

Our mom had previously battled stage 2 nasopharyngeal cancer in 2019, which left her body weakened and immunocompromised. As a result, she was unable to fight off the infection. Over time, her health declined significantly, she became malnourished, developed diabetes, and suffered from low blood pressure, requiring steroid treatment that further strained her body. She endured tremendous pain and suffering, yet she continued to fight with courage and strength until the very end. After witnessing how much she had endured, we made the heartbreaking decision to let her rest peacefully with God in heaven.

As we grieve this immense loss, my sister and I hope to honor our mother’s wishes by giving her a proper funeral service and cremation, which she wanted for a peaceful farewell. However, the financial burden has been overwhelming. My sister is still in college and working part-time, and I am the sole financial provider supporting both of us while managing rising bills and funeral expenses.

We humbly ask for your support during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us give our mom the farewell she truly deserves and allow us the space to grieve without the added stress of financial hardship. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page or sending a kind message means just as much to us.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for helping us honor the life of a remarkable woman and mother. Your kindness, support, and generosity mean more than words can express.

With love,
Amy & Anna
