On January 4, 2026, our family lost our mother, Michelle, unexpectedly. She was only 54 years old. My mom was truly the light in every dark room no matter what she was going through, she always had a smile on her face and a way of making everyone around her feel safe, loved, and cared for.

From the time she was a little girl, my mom battled health issues and lived her entire life with sickness, yet she never let it define her. She always put others before herself, making sure everyone else was okay even when she was struggling. She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger without hesitation. Her kindness, strength, and selflessness touched everyone who knew her.

Not even two months after the heartbreaking loss of my little brother, my mom took her last breath. Losing them both so close together has been devastating for our family, especially for my sister and me as we try to navigate this unimaginable grief.

While our hearts are shattered, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is now reunited with her parents and my little brother. She is finally at peace.
