My name is Karmen Glunt. My Brother is Michael Glunt. You may have heard his name in the news. You may not know him or you knew him through school, growing up in Tulsa or in Pierceton Indiana where we split our time as kids. He was 33. He was on the spectrum, had PTSD and lived with my mom. He has struggled with his mental health on and off. Though he has made attempts before they were more so cries for help. He was glad he was alive and that his attempt wasn’t successful.

Complex emotions and situations were difficult for him. But truly he had the softest heart. The current political climate and what is happening outside his door were hard for him to understand. It was hard for him to feel helpless while innocent people get hurt. Though his medications were doubled and he was going to therapy, it just was not enough to quiet the storm.

Sunday, he gained access to a weapon, and walked away. My family notified authorities that he was in crisis but also that he had a weapon. When my mom found him the authorities also were not far behind. The situation ended with the death of my brother.

This is sad for everyone involved. My heart breaks for my brother and that his existence was painful and that his death was so traumatic. I know this is a loaded time, a loaded situation, and it is not for the faint of heart. We are asking for some help with funeral costs for him to be finally laid to rest in peace.
