This is about my mom, Kimberly Payne. She was diagnosed with an aggressive late-stage Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma of the brain in 2024. She improved after chemo, only to find that a tumor had developed in her brain, causing her a bad car accident. She is now on hospice care in the Rocklin home she grew up in with her parents, Linda and Franklin Silva. She is sleeping most of the time and is not in any pain or suffering, and we are grateful.
My mom had no life insurance or savings. Medicare and Medicaid have covered most of her care, but as she has transitioned to her final days, our family now has to think about how we will pay for her final arrangements, and none of us are equipped to bear this burden without some help.
