These are the words of Alfie, proud general manager of Trick Dog, but I am reaching out to you all on behalf of the incredible group I've been lucky enough to manage.
For five years Trick Dog has been my home. My career truly started there, I’ve made some of the closest and most important relationships I hold dear there, chances are if you know me you met me there. And every day that I’ve worked at Trick Dog, I have felt such an all consuming and overpowering amount of love from our community, both geographically and within our industry. Beginning every day with an outward embrace and you all have met us and then some with love and grace (and upbeat patience when the bar is heaving).
We now find ourselves on unknown ground. Due to the efforts made across the world to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Trick Dog has made the decision to close its doors for the necessity of public safety as we all crucially practice social distancing. The Governor’s state wide mandate for Shelter In Place must be adhered to.
My beloved staff have filed for unemployment and now find themselves at home, doing what makes them all unique and wonderful, spanning from embroidering, to throwing pottery, to making their loved ones laugh and perhaps a well balanced homemade cocktail or two.
Be sure to know, what they all want to be doing is hustling in that pretty pink building and creating wonderful memories with all of you, but that cannot happen until we all persevere though this unprecedented time.
In the meantime, if you have it within your ability and budget to help them weather this storm, please pledge what you can and share with us your favorite Trick Dog Cocktail! Any amount would be an amazing gift.
All funds will be split equally amongst all the employees, to front and back of house and our cleaners, in hopes to bridge the gap and add to the minimal government resources between now and when, Mother Nature willing, we can reopen after this indefinite closure. This team means the world to me, every cent will go to them.
Myself and the crew cannot wait to see you in more triumphant circumstances and make you some creative cocktails and delicious food, but until then let’s hunker down, love our loved ones and overcome this.
