This is Dali, my 6-year old “doggocito”. He needs every paw he can get to walk, run, and be Dali again.
Less than two years ago, Dali was diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral disc disease), a condition that causes a loss of sensitivity due to hernias in their spinal column, affecting their spinal cord and nerves — with an unbearable, immobilizing pain in his back legs. We were able to treat without surgery, but given his age and severity of the prognosis, he relapsed. On thanksgiving week, he stopped walking and we rushed to Colombia.
Only surgery can help Dali walk again.
In the US, the quote for surgery was $15-18k range ..an amount beyond affordability.
In Colombia (where Dali’s mama is from), the cost of surgery and up to 1 month of post-surgical recovery/rehabilitation is between $5k-6k.
The urgency of this surgery is Dali’s future. If we don’t act fast, his health complications will multiply, risking loss of mobility an even his neurological tissue, with an irreversible damage to his quality of life.
Every donation, no matter how small, is already the biggest act of generosity and hope for Dali.
Dali made our house a home and saved my life in more ways than I can count. His little sister, Frida, is waiting for her zoomies buddy to come home.
Thank you for giving Dali a paw to beat IVDD!
