My name is El Døsen, and I’m embarking on a creative expedition to explore the ancient art of cave painting — not just in theory, but in living practice.

For years, I’ve studied cave art as a phenomenon: how early humans marked stone with meaning, memory, and mystery. Now, I want to take that knowledge out of the books and into the wild — to experience, document, and respond to this primal form of expression with my own hands, eyes, and senses.

The result of this journey will be a book and a film, blending research, reflection, and raw artistic exploration. It’s part archaeology, part pilgrimage — a way to reconnect with the origin of image-making, in a time when digital media overwhelms us.
