Hi, my name is Kacy, and I’m raising funds for my dear friend Laura.
Laura has spent the last 24 years serving others as a nurse. Nursing isn’t just what she does, it’s who she is. She has advocated fiercely for her patients while supporting families through some of the most heartbreaking and vulnerable moments of their lives. She has shown up again and again with compassion, strength, and grace.
If you know Laura, you know she is one of the most genuinely kind, loving, and selfless people you’ll ever meet. She is the person who checks on everyone else, who remembers the small details, who gives without ever expecting anything in return.
In 2013, Laura was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She went through treatment with courage and determination and was thankfully declared in remission. For over a decade, she believed that battle was behind her. She moved forward with gratitude, continuing to pour her heart into her work and the people she loves.
Recently, she received devastating news: the cancer has returned, and it is now stage 4 metastatic cervical cancer. She immediately began chemotherapy, but after just four weeks of treatment, a PET scan showed that the current chemotherapy is not working and the cancer continues to spread.
To make matters even harder, she has recently learned that her insurance is not covering these treatments. Chemotherapy, imaging, medications, lab work, specialist consultations — all of it has become completely out of pocket. She is also facing the urgent need to secure a new insurance policy while trying to navigate aggressive treatment options. No one should have to battle for their life while also worrying about how to afford care.
Laura has always been fiercely independent and incredibly strong. Asking for help is not easy for her. If you have ever been cared for by a nurse who went above and beyond, you understand the kind of heart Laura has. She has been the one carrying others through their darkest days, but now she needs us to show up for her.
We are asking for help to cover:
• Ongoing chemotherapy and more aggressive treatment plans
• PET scans, imaging, and lab work
• Specialist consultations and second opinions
• Medications and supportive care
• Travel if advanced or specialized treatment is needed
• Basic living expenses so she can focus fully on fighting this disease
• Assistance securing and paying for a new insurance policy
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you’re unable to give financially, please consider sharing this page and lifting her up in prayer, love, and positive thoughts.
Thank you for standing with Laura. She has spent her life fighting for others. Now she is fighting for her own. ❤️
