My name is Danae, I am a conscientious, diligent, hard working 22 year old who has been on my own since I was 18 and worked full time to support and put myself through Phlebotomy school. I am now a certified Phlebotomist working (3) part-time jobs to afford tuition to attend Contra Costa Medical Career College’s upcoming January 2022 one-year Surgical Technician and Associates of Arts Degree courses for which I am currently enrolled but unfortunately my financing efforts are running short and here is where I am asking for your help:
- I am $15,990 short of the $32,510 January 7th tuition payment deadline ($32,510 less $2,520 applied college credits, less $8,000 previously paid initial deposit, which was my personal savings over the past two years, and less a $6,000 gift).
- I am unable to apply for a student loan for the balance because this course is not covered by Title IV Financial Aid, therefore all associated costs must be paid by the attendee.
I am wholeheartedly committed and dedicated to fully investing myself to achieve a career in the medical field because it is my life-long passion and I love to care for patients.
A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON ME
A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON ME
Since the age of six I have wanted to be a Veterinarian or Nurse. This dream/goal started when I helped nurse my dog, Bam-bam back to good health from an injured paw and years later as a teen when I made weekly visits to my grandmother's home (on my father's side) to assist her with organizing weekly doses of medications after her successful heart transplant.
My desire to have a career in the medical field motivated and guided me throughout high school to; peruse science courses and attend a one week Tech Trek Science program at Sonoma State College, secure a delegate appointment at a four-day National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientist Convention at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston, Massachusetts, participate in the Willie B. Adkins college preparatory program as well as a four day nursing camp with NorthBay Healthcare, graduate high school with a 4.3 GPA and attend one semester at San Francisco State College as a pre-nursing student.
At this time I am determined to continue my education and if you wish to do so, I would greatly appreciate any amount you could contribute towards helping me in my endeavor so I may continue making a positive difference in the lives of those who need medical care.
Thank you for engaging in my story.
Sincerely,
Danae - A Surgical Assistant in the Making
The medical profession is a work of heart.
