After 23 years caring for others at the most pivotal point in their life; this ICU nurse, mother and wife was diagnosed with Stage 3 A breast cancer (with 2 of the 12 lymph nodes positive for cancer with 1 lymph node eroding its capsule) in February, 2018.
After several mammograms, diagnostic ultrasound, 3 biopsies, MRI and a PET scan ; on April 23,2018 Marjorie underwent a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction (implantation of temporary fillers) with removal of 12 lymph nodes. Her complications from surgery include frequent aspiration of lymph fluids from both breast, swelling /welts, difficulty lifting and extending her arms, nausea and vomiting . She had a chest port placed on June 5th, 2018 and had her first chemotherapy session on June 6th, 2018. Chemotherapy will last for 20 weeks which will be followed by radiation. These treatments has been extremely difficult leaving Marjorie unable to work. She has accumulated over $15,000 in medical expenses (after insurance payments), with an anticipation of more to come. This phenomenal woman has touched and poured into so many lives as a nurse, I am asking that we do the same for her.
Please help support her in this fight.
