Hello! My name is Katie Smith. I am 20 years old from Kilcullen, County Kildare and currently studying Musical Theatre in Cork. Nine months ago my amazing Dad, Paul Smith passed away after a 3 year battle with Lymphoma. My Dad was everyone's best friend, always caring and gave everything he had to offer to the world. His strength throughout his battle with cancer was absolutely incredible. He never let cancer beat his spirit and determination to fight. To honour his love, life and resilience I am hosting a Fundraiser in the Moat Theatre which will be a night of musical theatre and Dad's favourite songs to honour his memory. Students and my bestest friends from MTU Musical Theatre in Cork are travelling down to give everyone the best show possible!
However, blown away by the support there are many family and friends that will not be able to make it to the show but would still like to donate to these two beautiful charities. So that is why we have set up a GoFundMe! If you can and are willing to go to the show please get tickets at the link above however if you want to support but cannot make it you can donate here. Any donations are extremely appreciated. Donations will be split between the Irish Cancer Society and Saint Brigid's Hospice in the Curragh which is very near and dear to my family and Dad, a small portion may be going toward the Fundraiser at the Moat if extra hosting costs arise.
These are two beautiful charities that do so much work for people and families affected by cancer. So, any help towards them would be absolutely amazing. Thank you for taking the time to read!
Katie x
