After a devastating accident in 2014 Barbara Harnick lost the ability to walk and has limited use of her arms and hands. Barb has been using a power wheelchair for the last 7 years which provides her mobility and limited independence. At this time her current wheelchair has reached its lifespan. Repair cost on her original wheelchair are no longer monetarily beneficial, or guaranteed.
Barb is in need of a new wheelchair. The cost of the replacement chair, as recommended by her physician and physical therapist, is $33,390.00. The insurance copay and patient responsibility is $15,935.00. We are seeking help to off-set this out of pocket expense.
The new wheelchair would include an elevating feature which allows for greater independence completing activities of daily living. The standing feature helps with pain management, core control, bone density, spasticity management, and autonomic regulation(such as heart rate, digestion and respiration rate),
Please consider donating and/or sharing this to help. We thank you in advance for any and all of your support.
