A New Start for Mandy and Her Daughters

Hello! My name is Mandy and I'm a single mom of 3 daughters in the process of having to start our whole lives over in a situation I really never saw coming at all. My goal is to use any donations I receive to increase my down payment on this new life we're building and make this transition easier!.

About 12 years ago, my (now) ex-husband and I signed a deal on a contract for deed home, for 10 years. We split up a couple of years into it, and I paid the house off in full, by myself. Unfortunately, the man the contract was with had refinanced the house several times without paying on it before ultimately getting it repossessed by the bank and filing bankruptcy on me, leaving me no way to try to collect on this legally or civilly. After nearly two years of fighting, the bank officially took possession of the house I paid off this past November. Thankfully, the girls and I are in a safe and stable environment for the time being, but we are looking to restart our life in our forever home. I am very thankful to have a job as a Housekeeping Aid for our local VA, but there are only so many options I have in my career path, in part due to being legally blind since my mid-20s due to Stargardt's Disease. Thankfully, my condition could be much worse. Also, my situation could be much worse. But I'm trying to find a home, put down as much of a down payment as possible, and hopefully be able to afford the rest. I have had SSDI for some time, but this job at the VA has put me just a couple hundred dollars above the monthly income amount. While I am thankful to have the best career path I have ever had, this has definitely taken a toll on my monthly income, overall. I really am not a big fan of the idea of this, but it was suggested and I am reluctantly willing to try this. Any help whatsoever would be so extremely appreciated!
