A New Start for Jada
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Brandy and I am seeking donations to help my only daughter and beloved firstborn Jada. She is 19 years old and has been in a tumultuous fight for her life. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 17. Despite that, she remained committed to carving out a normal, neurotypical life by embracing her natural talents as a singer and being a high school honor student. Jada graduated high school and began her young adult life by being accepted into her dream school, The Howard University. She was so excited and so ready to start a new chapter. Unfortunately, the monster that is schizophrenia reared its ugly head and she was forced to withdraw. Jada has been dealing with significant depression and anxiety since then. Now, and as painful as it is to type, she has admitted that the voices are telling her daily that she is not meant to be successful, she is not worthy of life, and living life as a schizophrenic is becoming so strenuous that she would rather close her eyes eternally.
As a mother, imagine how heartbreaking it is to see your talented daughter suffer an illness that is often mocked and misunderstood. Imagine seeing her once bright face on stage singing with the community orchestra belting out Handel's Messiah, singing a tik tok duet of Adele with a stranger, releasing music on Spotify be reduced to a shadow of herself. Mental health services are not what they need to be in this country. This isn't a political debate, this is a fact. I need to raise money to send my daughter to a private, residential facility that will allow her to get the 24/7 care and support that she needs. Insurance doesnt cover this cost. She isn't addicted to drugs or alcohol so there is no dual diagnosis to fall back on. She is on the cusp of a breakthrough. It is my job to fight and to walk beside her in this fight for her life. Please. Anything will help. Its 25,500 a month! But what price do u put on a life? What price can you put on a future? I believe in my heart of hearts that 30 days could change her trajectory. She is WORTHY.
