Help Dan Rebuild After Life Took an Unexpected Turn

My name is Suzi Wilson, and I’m reaching out as a mother who wants to see her son get back on his feet. My son, Dan Page, has worked hard his entire life—over 20 years in hardwood floor installation—while raising three boys. He’s always put others first, working long hours to support his family. But in December 2024, his body finally gave out.

Dan was hospitalized in Colorado for three days due to the extrusion of three discs in his back. Doctors told him he would need surgery to repair the damage. But instead of coming home to support and care, he was met with heartbreak. When he texted his wife to say he was being discharged, she simply responded with a "thumbs up." And when he arrived home, she handed him a small bag of clothes and told him he was no longer welcome.

With nowhere else to go, I immediately got him a hotel room for the night and a plane ticket to Mississippi, where my husband and I live. Dan arrived with only that tiny bag of clothes and a stack of bills.

For the past couple of months, we’ve been helping him find medical insurance and devising a plan to pay his bills. Thanks to the kindness of a dear friend in Colorado, we were also able to ship his work truck and tools here, which we’ve been trying to sell to help him start fresh.

Now, as Dan prepares for his much-needed surgery on March 17, 2025, we’re facing a major challenge: transportation. After surgery, he will need a reliable, small vehicle to get to follow-up appointments and, eventually, work when he’s ready.
