Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers,

We are the Robinson family made up of Tomas Hayley and our two and a half year old son Lenny. We are reaching out for your help to purchase a new accessible vehicle for our incredible son.

Lenny is a joyful and resilient boy living with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Our boy approaches the world with an infectious laugh, unwavering determination, and a bright smile. The things that Lenny loves to do is reading, dancing, going to the park, visiting animals and all things art and craft.

Although Lenny is resilient, he faces significant challenges daily that lots of other children will luckily never experience. Lenny is unable to walk, sit unassisted for longer than a few minutes, stand without assistance or mobilise in any capacity. His main form of movement is army crawling and rolling in sequence.

We have experienced a growing number of unanticipated challenges through our journey as first-time parents. In 2025 this has included a countless number of ambulance rides/hospital stays, learning seizure management, teaching our loved ones how to physically support our boy, Botox and hours upon hours of therapy.

Our latest challenge as a family is having already outgrown one of our cars and moving closer towards outgrowing our other vehicle.

In order to live his fullest life, Lenny requires essential specialised equipment, which is growing with him. The equipment we would love to be able to transport with us to daycare and other community areas (ie parks, shopping centres ect) are:

A wheelchair with power assist: this has recently been approved by the NDIS and will be his primary means of independent movement

A specialised car seat: for moving him in and out of the car with ease

A standing frame: to help with hip health and positioning support

A Gait trainer: current form of independent movement however Lenny struggles to phsycially move it forward and manoeuvre it himself

Bingo Stroller: a pram with postural support for Lenny bilaterally for comfort

Right now, our current vehicle, is simply too small to safely and easily transport Lenny and his necessary equipment: we do A LOT of Heavy Lifting - risking injury to ourselves.

We are striving for independence and Safety and our goal is to purchase and modify a new or gently used large family car, adding an automatic ramp or lift, giving him and us the dignity of easy access without strenuous lifting and playing Tetris. We would love to be able to take multiple pieces of equipment out to allow Lenny the freedom to chose and be independent- but this will be impossible space-wise when our new wheelchair arrives.
