Hi, I'm Aurora (well, that's my middle name, and the one I prefer).

If you know me you know how much music means to me. I've reached a point in my musical progress which tells me the time has come for a new dobro. Something isn't right with mine. I've tried everything under the sun, and the only option would be to send the guitar for a setup, which could cost me more than what I paid for the guitar with shipping etc. And in my heart, I feel it's time for a real professional guitar, as I get closer to my goals of working in music and maybe making part of my living from it.

I'm a trans woman in a genre in which LGBTQIA+ folks are massively underrepresented, especially trans folks. As such it was suggested to me by a dear friend that it would be acceptable to attempt to raise money via crowdfunding for a guitar. I also am autistic, have a learning disability, and a carer.

Having dyspraxia, a condition that impairs hand-eye coordination and spacial awareness, nobody thought I'd ever be able to play an instrument. Certainly not to an advanced level, and certainly not something like the dobro. I love this crazy thing, and I know it's becoming more than a hobby for me. I don't know if I can ever be full-time professional, but it's a colossal part of my life. Music is also critical for me my mental and emotional wellbeing, and having an instrument that really makes me want to play it would be so so special.

I totally get that we're all struggling right now. So I'm not going to be offended if you can't or won't contribute
