A New Pain Pump for Leo
Donation protected

Hello friends and family! As many of you know Leo has a spinal cord injury that has, in the past, caused paralysis, use of a walker or cane and the use of a scooter. He has been in constant pain for years. That pain had been alleviated to a certain degree thanks to a pain pump being implanted which put pain medicine directly into his spinal column. The pain pump GREATLY IMPROVED HIS QUALITY OF LIFE!! The pain pump has to be replaced when the battery life runs out but his insurance will not cover the replacement of this pain pump. Since the pump has been turned off he has been in excrutiating pain and can not do what he normally would be able to do.
The past several years he has not been able to work but he has been VERY CRUCIAL to this family as he would take care of our minor children while I would go to work. He would also look after our grandchildren while I was at work. He would keep busy doing small engine repairs for neighbors, family and friends. We, for many years raised foster children and eventually adopted 2 children with special needs and without the pain pump he would not have been able to do much, if any, of this!!!
As it stands now, I may need to cut back on the amount of time I am able to work outside of the home if he is not able to continue caring for our children and grandchildren while I am at work.
Leo is not one to sit around and do nothing even though pain is a constant companion. He likes/needs to stay busy!! He LOVES spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren!!! We have 2 minor children and 1 adult child still at home and all of them are special needs and require full time care which Leo has been a major part of!!
We would GREATLY APPRECIATE your prayers and then any amount of financial support you might be able to put towards a new pain pump for Leo. Thank you in advance for your help and support for Leo and all of us.
