A New Nose for Merlin

Merlin was a stray Tom Cat that had been hanging around my work-place for over a year.  He needed a home and I volunteered after convincing myself that he was a stray and therefore will not want to be an inside cat. - Wrong 
First things first though, I took him to the vet to get him neuter, tested for Feline Aids, and generally checked out.  He came home with us, cone and all and started to settle in with my dogs and the three of them are now inseparable.


Following his recovery Merlin decided that indoors is way more fun than outdoors and has since settled in perfectly with our family.


Unfortunately Merlin soon developed a rare fugal disease which I have been treating for over two years now with various antifungal medications.  Each day I shove a tablet down his throat and he never complains. However he has now become immune to any medication and requires surgery to remove his nose entirely.
Merlin has to go to a specialist.  His breathing is compromised due to scar tissue closing in around his nostrils, and if his nose is not removed the disease will travel into his brain causing seizures and certain death.
Unfortunately $9500 is not in my reach as a single mum and I am unable to have him operated on without it.


He is such a happy loving cat that has found himself a loving home. We simply cannot bring ourselves to have him put down.
