In case you haven't heard... I'M GROWING!
And I have outgrown my current Squiggles wheelchair, which was designed for kids 1-5 years old. (I'm 7 now...)
So here are the details!
Funding is going to be used for the Leckey Mygo seat; size 1.
Cost: $7,692.20
While we are grateful that we have received some funding towards this awesome and vital piece of equipment, we are left to come up with the remaining $2,600.00 on our own.
This chair allows me to eat in the proper position. It has a tilt function so that I can be reclined to my desired seating needs dependent on how I am feeling. It is an activity chair and has a high/low base and a really cool tray. It allows me to sit almost on the floor to play with my sister Chloe or my friends, and allows me to sit at any height of table. It comes with me to my family's homes so that I have a safe place to sit while I am there visiting and playing.
This chair will grow with me into my teens (Yep! TEENAGER!).
I will be paying it forward as well, and will be donating my current seat to a family that can use it and will benefit from it the way I have.
If you all decide you love me so much that we raise MORE than the $2,600 goal, anything over and above that will go into my savings account and used to pay for my movement therapy which is only increasing in cost yearly. My mom & Dad pay close to $900 for 3 hours a day, once a week, for 1 session. There are 4 sessions a year (so it's $3200/year) for this therapy, and it is not government funded. Eventually I will go 6 hours a day so costs will double.
If you are able to help get me into my new chair, I will be way more comfortable, and so very grateful. These pieces of equipment are a vital part of my daily life, and I appreciate you all taking the time to help me and my family with this one!
