A New Liver for Baby Ocean Sintos

Aloha I'm Lani Eckart-Dodd and I'm fundraising for my cousin Keoni's baby, Ocean, who needs a liver transplant.

From Ocean's mommy, Angela:

"Aloha family and friends,

In May of 2022, our baby, Ocean, was born with a rare liver disease called biliary atresia. At 8 weeks old, Ocean got the Kasai procedure done in hopes that it would help. But, for unknown reasons, it failed. It’s been 3, almost 4 months post-op and he hasn’t cleared his jaundice.

0cean needs a needs a new liver before his first birthday. So, In mid-December we will be traveling to California to the Stanford Children’s Medical Center. Once there, Ocean will get evaluated then placed on the transplant list.

We already did the first step in the process which was meeting the transplant team from Stanford. We won’t know our next steps till we run more tests. But through it all Ocean has been so strong and fights. He’s a happy baby and that's what keeps me going. He will get through this and live a long and happy life.

We are fundraising to help the ohana with medical costs as well as travel and living expenses while they wait on standby in California until Ocean receives the transplant.
