A new life for Helen and her mom
Donation protected
On Thursday April 13th a beautiful and weak little female calf was born on a farm in the Catskills. The farmer named the little calf Helen. Sadly Helen was born blind. To a farmer a blind calf is considered useless and would normally be destroyed. Thankfully Helen was born to a farmer who wanted to give her a chance at a happy and healthy life, so he contacted Broome Animal Sanctuary.
At BAS our mission is to give sanctuary to at risk farm animals. As much as we hate to say no sometimes it is necessary because we do not have the space, but Helen's story tugged at our hearts so today we took a ride to the farm to meet the farmer and little Helen. Currently BAS is at capacity, but after meeting Helen today there was no way we could say no.
During our meeting I asked the farmer if he would consider allowing Helen's mother to come with Helen to live at BAS. To our surprise he agreed. Helen and her mother will live together, but they are going to need a separate and secured area away from the other BAS animals for their own safety. Due to Helen's weakened condition and her mother's advanced age we anticapte many medical bills, but we are committed to giving them both the love and care they deserve. So once again here we are asking for your support by donating what you can. And just as important please share our campaign with anyone you think would be willing to donate to help bring Helen and her mother home to BAS.
Best Always,
The BAS Family
