A New life for Danny

Hi, my name is Constance Payne. I am starting this go fund me for my brother Danny. He is almost 40 years old and has never had the chance to experience life like most of us. I have been trying to save him from the horrible conditions and unfortunately the horrible family we have had for almost 20 years now. My brother is on the spectrum and he is blind. Our family never got him the help he needs or funding with social services, so my brother has been working overtime at two jobs and racking up his credit cards to try to be able to afford to live in a horrible place that our parents put him in. He is their dirty little secret.

Every time I would l try to get my brother our parents would block me from it. I, unfortunately, live states away from him and was completely unaware of the home's condition. I had thought he was at least in a clean and safe environment and that he was just lonely because our family never took him anywhere. I was wrong. This place is a shithole. No one should be living here. Sadly, there were other family members that knew about his living condition and they did nothing. No one would speak about it.

My mouth dropped when I got to where he was living. This place had one of the worst infestations of cockroaches I have ever seen in my life, and I am a forensic cleaner. There were roaches crawling in and out of my brother's mouth and ears. There was no hot water for over two weeks going into three. This is unacceptable, how could anyone do this to their family?

I have been talking to my brother, and he has told me about the last five years. It is heartbreaking to hear what he has been through. My brother has never explored the world only where he lived and worked. The people around him who claimed to love him never took him anywhere or helped him. He was just a burden to them that no one talked about.

My brother is an amazing person. He is so smart and funny! I love him so much and I am determined to show him the world and give him the life he deserves. We packed up the belongings we could salvage and I moved him into my house. We are taking one step at a time to get him used to being somewhere new and having better living conditions. I want to get him to a dr and have his eyes checked. I want him to find passions and things he likes. But mostly I want my brother to know what being loved feels like.

Anything you can donate we will appreciate. It will go to helping Danny get the help he needs to improve his life. We will get him new glasses, clothes, food, bathroom essentials, medicine/medical, and anything else to make his move and life easier.
