Hi everyone,

My name is Anna, and with my parents, Dan and Mandi, we have put together this fundraiser with the hope that it'll help me acquire a medical alert/mobility/psychiatric service dog. I live with several medical conditions: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), just to name a few. Unfortunately, my quality of life has been greatly impacted over the years due to these conditions. I used to be fairly active, able to go on walks and hikes with my family, and hang out with my friends. Today, my day-to-day life is completely different; from chronic pain and mobility issues, to debilitating gastrointestinal symptoms, and crippling anxiety and sensory challenges, every day presents obstacles that require extra assistance.

Luckily there is hope! A service dog would be a vital companion for me, helping with everyday things, ranging from mobility assistance, retrieving items when I cannot, alerting me to changes in my condition, providing deep pressure therapy, and in general helping with tasks that have become incredibly challenging due to my illnesses. This furry partner wouldn’t just be a helper—it would be a source of independence, safety, and comfort in the times when I need it most.

I am currently 21 years old now and my greatest wish is to be more independent. I want to rely less on others for help, to regain some autonomy and choice in my life. Several alternative avenues have been explored, but without a service dog to aid me, achieving this dream simply won't be possible.

Unfortunately, the cost of obtaining and training a service dog is incredibly high. This GoFundMe will be used solely for the following: acquiring a service dog, travel expenses, professional training, possible medical care, any needed equipment, and any other ongoing costs during the first year, to ensure the dog is healthy and well cared for.
