Sometimes it is easier to count up what has been lost - than to focus on what has been gained. Yes, through lack of will or follow-thru, I am losing financially because my husband didn't do his due diligence on beneficiary assignment. It is causing financial harm.

But...through my due diligence, there are assets I shepherded through to ensure 'our' beneficiary assignments were up to date.

I am choosing to focus on what I protected. I am happy to note I am safe/I feel safe. I know how my funds are spent because I manage them. I plan to get back to teaching free art classes soon. I can't wait to see the creativity blossom in those who serve our communities. Nurses, lay-peers, mothers, sisters and daughters: sharing laughter, food and art.

It is a new beginning. I am grateful.
