Thank you so much for visiting our page - a page set up by some of Sabrina and Rhys' closest friends to raise vital funds for three‑year‑old Lily (follow @bravelikelily), who has shown extraordinary strength after surviving a brain tumour and a severe brain injury.
With your generosity we can help Lily and her family — Sabrina, Rhys, and Violet — access groundbreaking MUSE stem cell therapy, offering real hope for life‑changing improvements in her recovery.
Lily’s Story
Eighteen months ago, when she was just two and a half, Lily loved nothing more than to dance. Then, without warning, everything changed.
After just three weeks of unexplained illness — vomiting, loss of appetite, increasing irritability — Sabrina and Rhys took Lily to doctors again and again. There were multiple emergency visits, appointments, tests and scans. Each time, they were told it was likely gastric.
Then one day, Lily suffered a seizure and stopped breathing.
An emergency scan revealed the real cause: an ependymoma brain tumour that had been silently growing. By then, the tumour had already created dangerously high pressure inside her skull, cutting off the blood flow and oxygen her brain needed to survive.
Lily underwent immediate brain surgery to remove the tumour and save her life.
While surgeons successfully removed the tumour, the prolonged pressure, oxygen deprivation, and complexity of her surgery resulted in a severe hypoxic‑ischemic brain injury.
When Lily woke up, everything had changed.
She could no longer breathe on her own.
She could not swallow.
She could not track the world with her eyes.
She could not move her arms or legs.
For any parent, there are no words for the heartbreak of watching your child lose so much, so suddenly.
But Lily is a fighter.
At the start of rehabilitation, Lily had almost no voluntary movement and only the smallest responses to the world around her.
Over the past eighteen months, Sabrina and Rhys have dedicated themselves completely to her recovery. Through intensive neurological rehabilitation and some of the most advanced therapies available, Lily is slowly making progress.
She smiles.
She giggles.
She recognises her family.
Her brain is still working, still adapting, still trying to reconnect. Everyone who knows Lily believes deeply in what is possible for her.
MUSE Stem Cell Therapy — A Rare and Promising Opportunity
Recently, Sabrina and Rhys discovered a treatment that brings even more hope: MUSE stem cell therapy.
Unlike traditional MSC stem cells, MUSE cells are non‑tumorigenic — meaning they do not form tumours. For Lily, who has already survived a brain tumour, this safety difference is critical. Traditional MSC therapy carries a higher risk of tumour growth, which means Lily cannot safely receive them.
MUSE therapy gives Lily something incredibly rare:
a chance for her brain to repair safely.
For the best possible outcome, MUSE therapy must be paired with daily, targeted neurological rehabilitation to stimulate new connections and guide her brain’s healing.
The combination of MUSE stem cell treatment and three months of intensive rehabilitation could make a profound difference in Lily’s recovery.
But it comes at an enormous financial cost — none of which is covered by insurance.
We Need Your Help
With your support, we will help fund:
• Six rounds of MUSE stem cell treatment
• Specialised intensive neuro‑rehabilitation to help Lily regain movement and function.
For Sabrina, Rhys, and Violet, the dream is simple:
To give Lily the best possible chance to heal.
To help her regain movement.
To help her find her voice again.
And one day…
to watch their little girl dance again.
How You Can Help
Lily has already overcome so much. Every small step forward shows her strength, determination, and the incredible potential of her healing brain.
If you are able to support Lily’s treatment, it will mean the world to her family. Every donation — no matter the amount — brings her closer to the therapies that could transform her future.
If you’re not in a position to give financially, sharing Lily’s story is another powerful way to help. You can follow her journey on Instagram @bravelikelily and share her story on your socials.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in Lily — and for helping us fight for the chance to see her dance again.
With love and gratitude,
Lily’s cheerleaders xx
