A new home for Van the Holstein
Donation protected

Kismet Creek Farm graciously took Van, our rescued holstein steer in when he outgrew our property at the Rainbow Ranger Station Sanctuary a couple of years ago. We are forever grateful for them caring for him. However, Kismet Creek Farm will now be closing and Van needs a new home.
In a stroke of luck, we found just the place for him! Very dear and trustworthy friends of ours have generously (and excitedly) wished to offer a home for Van on their private property. It is located not too far from where he is, and also close to us, so the transport will be short, and we will continue to be very hands-on in taking care of him for the rest of his life.
His feed has already been secured for the year, he has a large pasture and they have begun acquiring everything Van will need to be safe and taken care of. But as we all know, this comes with a cost. We want to help them get set up, and this includes a shelter big enough for our large boy, a hay bale ring, water heaters for his trough, fixing some fencing, and electrical fencing (because our boy likes to go on adventures!). We also want to pay for his feed for many years to come, as well as to rent the trailer to bring him there. And lastly, any Veterinarian fees that we will need to keep him healthy.
The plan right now is to bring his favourite goat friends, whom he originally grew up with, to live with him so that he is not lonely. For anyone who visited him in his early years, you know he loved his goat friends, and lived in the same enclosure as them.
We have been advised that we can move Van from Kismet Creek after the Easter long weekend, 2025, and so we will do so as soon as we possibly can.
We appreciate any and all help for our precious boy, and with your help, he can live out his full and beautiful life.
