A new home for Muckykids Art Studio

Muckykids is moving... and we need your help! Our current location is up for sale. So, after 9 years in this lovely cozy space, it is time to pack up and nest somewhere new.

But the time is right for a move! We have found a wonderful, larger space just a little ways up Mass Ave. It has been a daydream of ours to move to a bigger space so as to offer more programming each day, programming with the open-ended, process based philosophy we love! 

We firmly believe that, when given the opportunity to explore and experiment with his or her own creative process and with the materials at hand, a child’s natural sense of wonder and curiosity are nurtured. With positive reinforcement and gentle guidance from adults, a child's creative process can become something they believe in and rely on. This can develop into a lasting strength and self-confidence that enriches future experiences. 

And so, into the new space, we are very excited to bring this philosophy and the familiar Muckykids vibe... an environment that provides autonomy and one that is cozy, safe, and inspiring for all.  

But before we move in, there is work to be done! The purpose of this GoFundMe page is to raise funds to make this happen.



We are seeking funds to:
* Renovate the new location to include a separate classroom space 
* Purchase a second set of furniture, shelving, and art-making tools to outfit the new classroom
* Refinish the basement, which will serve as storage and prep space
* Install a utility sink
* Purchase and instal Slatwall panels and shelving
* Purchase and instal Homasote paneling
* Purchasing a new Muckykids sign for the building
* To help cover moving costs, as well as painting and adding final touches.

The work has begun and will continue thru June and July, in advance of our August 1 move, so your donation will be put to immediate use.
