Hello dear friends,

I'm reaching out to you with some updates about Gwendolyn and a request for donations for stable housing. Gwendolyn continues to beat the odds surviving with stage 4 cancer. She has very limited income with disability and it has been hard to find affordable housing so she has needed to find options on a month to month basis.

Right now she has the opportunity for a lease in a home she can afford but we need help with a security deposit and first month's rent. The critical amount she needs is $1800. I have rounded up our fundraising goal because she is on such a limited income and while I'm reaching out to you I would love to give her some breathing room to not have to worry so much about expenses for awhile. Your generosity means so much and I hope that you are able to help.

There is a really exciting medical update. Gwendolyn continues to experience debilitating carcinoid crisis from the neuroendocrine tumors that secrete hormone. A crisis episode causes all of her vital signs to go haywire at once and it can be life threatening. This is something she has to manage on a day to day basis. Right now she is eligible for a targeted radiation treatment that would go after all of those tumors, hopefully shrinking the tumors but also hopefully knocking out their ability to secrete hormones which cause the carcinoid crisis. Her radiation oncologist is a sailor and his goal is to get her back out on the water, which is what we all want for her. The hope is that this will be life changing. It may take multiple treatments but if it works it could be everything.

Keeping her stress levels as low as possible helps to manage her symptoms and stable housing will give her security which has been hard to come by until now. This is within reach and your gifts can make it a reality. Gwendolyn is so loved and she is such a fighter.
