A New Heart for Derrick

Hello Family & Friends! Let me start by saying GOD IS GOOD! My husband Derrick (“DC”) has been blessed with the precious gift of a new heart! He underwent surgery at UCSF on September 14, 2023, after being placed on the transplant list just 2 months prior.

We are both so excited and grateful for this blessing and what the future holds, but for now we must prepare for the long recovery journey ahead. As you can imagine, the recovery process of a major surgery is long and intense, and a definite emotional roller coaster for us.

I am so thankful for all of the prayers and positive thoughts to get us through this. We are so blessed to have wonderful friends and family to lean on. I am humbly asking for a little help to ease our

financial burden involved with travel back and forth to San Francisco (gas/bridge tolls/parking/Lyfts), meals, and lodging. Any amount is much appreciated. Thank you again for your generous and kind support.
