A New Healing for Mike B’s Throat Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Peggy and my sister Ann and I are fundraising for our brother Mike Burton. Mike has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer....Our goal is to raise funds for Mike's ongoing medical care and income replacement. Mike will be unable to work for approximately 8 months.
So, please help Mike heal cancer once again. Despite bravely overcoming Stage IV kidney cancer and undergoing kidney and adrenal gland removal along with undergoing immunotherapy in the recent past, Mike now faces another challenge with a new diagnosis of throat cancer. This already required throat and lymphatic surgery on January 23rd with a painful but successful recovery.
Mike’s post-surgery treatment includes six and a half weeks of radiation therapy, a potentially grueling endeavor. He had to separate from his job on January 22nd given the all-encompassing nature of his recovery and inability to give 100% to that focus. Adding to his financial concerns are the substantial medical expenses insurance does not cover. Additionally, Mike is extensively integrating complementary modalities not covered by traditional insurance but key to his healing. Your donation, of any size, helps ease the financial burden and associated stress while providing much-needed emotional support as Mike - with your help - manifests his highest and best outcome. We kindly invite you to be part of this effort.
After his renal cell cancer treatment, Mike only has one kidney. The risk of recurrence is ever-present; he cannot afford to have his immune system compromised. Mike is therefore not a good candidate for chemotherapy which would provide the best chances for a total cure according to his oncology team. Nonetheless, Mike strongly believes a total cure with minimized side effects and diminishment can be achieved with a rigorous combination of Western medicine and well-researched complementary care.
The goal is clear: nothing short of a complete healing from the cancer while lessening short-term side effects and avoiding long term damage to his throat, head and neck area which represent serious risks moving forward.
This new cancer came with many obvious stressors for him, but one of the utmost troublesome and problematic is the financial burden. From surgery to recovery is a good 8 months by all accounts.
That's why we turn to you. Any donation helps ease this stress, first going toward medical bills and prescriptions, already in excess of $10,000. Next, he will pay for his essential complimentary care which can be quite expensive and not covered by insurance with any remainder supporting him until he can return to full employment.
We invite you to stand at Mike's side in his total healing with courage, determination and unending hope.
Thank you for your love and support.
