A New Hand for Claudia, A New Beginning

Hello my name is Claudia

Earlier this year I got into an extremely traumatizing accident. As a result, my right hand had to be amputated (wrist level).

I'm a single mother of 5 children. They depend on me since that is all they have. Being one hand down has decreased my ability to support them. I suffer from frequent panic/anxiety attacks.

I was in an ATV and the driver lost control and flipped upside down. I was in the passenger side. When the ATV flipped my right arm was stuck underneath it. I was in that situation for almost an hour. It was excruciating pain and I even lost consciousness because my body could no longer take the pain. I had two surgeries done; finally the doctor decided it was best to amputate my right hand.

Having to live with one hand has been a struggle. From having to relearn everything to do with one hand to my self-esteem.

Getting a prosthetic would be a life changer. I feel like that would help me feel better and would be able to better support myself.

Getting a prosthetic would increase my chances of being able to get a job and better take care of myself and my children.
