I'm Leslie Wells. Three years ago, I rehomed my now 15-year-old Min Pin Pom, DJ, to my housemate of six years as I moved to AZ. Bobbie has been a blessing and the best dog caregiver ever! She has walked him five times a day, come hell or high water.
On Monday, the 6th of April, at 4 pm, they were on their daily walk. A big black dog broke loose from his owner and charged Bobbie. She scooped DJ up into her arms, and the dog attacked. He grabbed DJ's rear left leg and knocked Bobbie down. DJ was only 14 lbs. The owner approached and kicked his dog in the head three times, got his dog, and walked off without one word! Three witnesses saw the whole thing. One lady took DJ and Bobbie to the vet. With $8,000.00 in vet bills and no guarantee due to DJ's age, the most humane thing to do was euthanize him for $180. Bobbie is traumatized and devastated, as is the whole apartment complex. They are currently working very hard to find this horribly irresponsible black dog owner that allowed his dog to kill DJ.
I would like to help Bobbie adopt a companion as she is 75, lives on a meager Social Security monthly income, and DJ kept her happy and active. I would like to collect enough money for Bobbie to pay for DJ's cremation and also adopt another dog, with extra to pay for food and supplies.
