2022 will be Jim and Debbie Fields' 33rd year of farming in Central Oregon. To celebrate this anniversary, I'm asking their community of neighbors, customers, and friends to help me fundraise for a brand new refrigerator for the on-farm sales shed. For years the "gray box"--a defunct-yet-insulated, retired fridge--has served as the place to find produce. To keep this gray box cool enough, gallon jugs of ice are rotated into the box (often twice daily) from a chest freezer in the house. With limited storage space (due to so many gallon jugs of ice) and an endearing lock-that-doesn't-quite-lock, the gray box has served the farm well.

But as the farm strives for a more efficient way to store produce for you, a new fridge that can be plugged into the solar array is needed! Imagine walking into the sales shed an seeing something like this:
The new refrigerator is a gift--a thank you--to these two who have committed so much energy into growing the finest produce available for their community. I have asked for, and received, permission from Jim and Debbie to fundraise for this gift; it's not a secret from them so feel free to ask questions or talk freely about it. I would like to make the fridge purchase by mid-March so we can acquire and have one up and running for the coming summer season.
Thank you so much for helping me raise funds for this farming anniversary gift for two of Central Oregon's finest farmers and people.
